Friendly, empathic and practical counselling rooted in listening and understanding – indoors, outdoors, or online.

Rocky path through green hills under a blue sky

“There is something profoundly clarifying about putting one foot in front of the other. The outdoors provides a space four walls simply cannot – a place where silence feels natural, not awkward.”

How I Work

Three distinct spaces for connection and processing.

Outside

Walking therapy in Highfield Country Park, Woodbank Park and local green spaces. We walk side-by-side, moving at your pace, using the environment to ground difficult conversations.

Inside

For times when the weather is too harsh, or you simply need the containment of a room. A quiet, unpretentious space in central Manchester.

Relational

The core of the work. Focusing on the honest, present-moment connection between us as the primary vehicle for understanding and change.

Kimaathi, BACP-registered counsellor, at his Manchester allotment

Meet Kimaathi

I am a BACP-registered counsellor based in Manchester. My practice is built on the belief that healing doesn't only happen in clinical, white-walled rooms.

Before training as a therapist, I worked as a volunteer with Manchester MIND Walk and Talk Adult Peer Support and their Allotment Project. I've seen first-hand how profound it can be to take our struggles outside, to walk with them, and to look them in the eye while moving forward.

My approach is direct, warm, and grounded. I won't sit in silence nodding at you – we will be in an active, honest dialogue.

I had tried therapy before and always felt like I was being analyzed under a microscope. Walking with Kimaathi felt like having a deep, challenging conversation with a wise companion.
